Rian Cullen is celebrating after achieving a Distinction in his End-Point Assessment (EPA), marking an important milestone in his apprenticeship and the beginning of the next stage of his career with Otis.
For Rian, achieving the highest possible grade is the culmination of the hard work, learning and preparation that have gone into his apprenticeship.
“Achieving a Distinction in my EPA is something I’m incredibly proud of,” says Rian. “My apprenticeship journey has been challenging but extremely rewarding, and it has given me the opportunity to develop both my technical knowledge and practical skills whilst learning from some very experienced engineers within the lift industry.”
Hard work pays off
Preparing for an End-Point Assessment gives an apprentice the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills they have developed during their apprenticeship.
For Rian, the work he put into preparing for his assessment made receiving his final result particularly rewarding. “A lot of hard work and preparation went into my EPA, so to come away with the highest possible grade has made it all worthwhile. I’m very grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my apprenticeship and helped me get to this point.”
Rian’s achievement has also been celebrated by his employer, Otis. Danielle Ashcroft, Early Careers Programme Manager at Otis, said: “Otis is incredibly proud of Rian’s hard work and determination, which have resulted in him achieving a Distinction grade. We have no doubt that Rian has a bright future ahead and will enjoy a long and successful career in the lift industry.”
Looking to the next stage
Having successfully completed his EPA, Rian is already looking ahead and thinking about how he can continue to develop his skills and progress within the industry.
“My Distinction result has given me even more confidence in my abilities and has made me even more determined to continue developing, take on greater responsibility and progress my career with Otis. I’m excited for the next stage of my career and to see what new heights I can reach within both the business and the wider lift industry.”
