Amends to ST0251 Stairlift, Platform Lift and Service Lift Electromechanic

The ST0251 Stairlift, Platform Lift and Service Lift Electromechanic Standard and Assessment Plan have been amended.  

The main points to note are as follows: 

KSB Removal 

S5 – Select, set up and adjust hydraulic components as per the product design, using mechanical tools and measuring equipment. 

Reason – This does not reflect practice for stairlifts  

KSB Adjustment  

K6 The principles and operation of hydraulic components making up a Stairlift, Lifting Platform or Service Lift system.  

K13 The principles, practices and legislation for the installation and testing of lifting platforms including; shaft structures, aperture frames, hydraulic and mechanical systems, safety devices, and traction systems. 

K15 The principles, practices and legislation for the installation and testing of service lifts including; shaft structures, aperture frames, hydraulic and mechanical systems, safety devices, and traction systems. 

S12 Set up systems for example, hydraulic or mechanical used on lifting platforms, and check components for correct operation. Commission and test installations, place into use 

S17 Set up systems for example, hydraulic or mechanical used on service lifts, check components for correct operation. Commission and test installations, place into use. 

S7 Set up stairlift systems for example, curved and straight rail systems 

The adjustments to the Standard have been made to best reflect current practices.
